The Journeys debut on Commercial Broadcast TV
Our big news of the week is starting on August 4th, the premiere of The Journeys Trilogy One here in Los Angeles on KXLA TV @ 2am and on August 5th on KVMD TV @ 2am, starring Angelica Montesano. The Journeys will air every weekend for the next few months. This will be followed by other Cineplex Entertainment programming. Our agreement with both KXLA and KVMD is for a full year.
New at Cineplex Studios
Cineplex Studios will soon be expanding our distribution side of our business and we would like to take this opportunity to present the new ‘Cineplex Studios Alliance’ producer / actor program. So far we have only been testing this new Alliance in a limited fashion but we plan to be rolling it out later this year.
This program will have many different sides to it and will be available to producers, actors & other industry professionals / companies. The details of this program are still being worked out, but the core of the program is to give actors and producers of new media greater visibility to the general public. This will be a very unique way of doing business, unlike any other new media distribution company.
Destiny Filming / Casting
Destiny: The Special Episode
The Destiny production is taking the month of August off and will start production back up in early September. Filming wrapped last week on Destiny the special episode, where we combined the cast of Circle of Influence with the Destiny cast. This episode will be the first to air as it will link the two series together in preparation for Destiny: episode 1 premiering later this year.
We continue to add new cast members to the Destiny production. This week we would like to highlight new cast member: Joy Selby.
Joy Selby as Liz in Destiny
Joy Selby is the real life mother to JoAnna Selby and will play the character Liz in the episode that will be filming in September. Liz will be the adoptive parent of Destiny. We are very excited about this episode where a real life mother/daughter play as a mother/daughter role. This will truly be special to all of us. The character of Liz will help guide Destiny in her decisions that she must make, decisions that will have a dramatic impact on the entire Destiny series.
The Cineplex Vision
We continue to move forward with additional ideas and plans for Cineplex Studios. CEO, Fred Copeland and CFO, John King, are looking into many areas of expansion. We see the future of Cineplex Studios looking more brighter than ever before! We are constantly making adjustments and implementing new ideas and strategies to make Cineplex Studios the best new media company ever!
Cineplex Entertainment Business
We would like to also welcome the newest board member to the Cineplex Entertainment, JoAnna Selby. Our next Cineplex Entertainment board meeting will be in the month of October.
Cineplex Studios, ‘Just Watch Us Now!’
Circle of Influence, starring Marie Lynn as Rachel Paris, will begin filming episode 2, January 14th & 15th and with Sandra Kawar as co-Director. Episode 2 is currently scheduled to finish filming the following weekend. The final episode for Circle of Influence written by Wendy Casey Mohler will be filmed in February.
